“Four days after returning from Arizona, I had a two-hour asbestos awareness class to teach. It is an annual requirement and probably the most dreaded of all safety topics. I sat down at my desk and began the day by deleting the 80 PowerPoint slides that I had worked on (roughly 10 hours of work, by the way...) before leaving for Phoenix and starting over with a focus on participant centered results. I broke down the training into three main objectives and designed a hands-on activity for each objective — partner task, teach back, and group activity. The class was great! I had construction workers actually THANKING me for making it interesting and entertaining. And all I did was drink coffee and wander around the room…
I shared with Cindy at the end of the four day conference that I was overwhelmed by the amount of talent, experience, and knowledge shared by all participants. It was truly a welcoming environment and I learned just as much from each of you as I did in the classes. Thanks for sharing with me! I look forward to hearing from everyone.”
